THE MİSERABLE ONES

“The Miserable Ones” (Les Misérables) was the most interesting book that I’ve even red. It was written by Victor Hugo, a French literaturer. The book was about the struggle of the prisoner Jean Valjean in bad society. Actually,he wasn’t guilty when he was imprisoned. He just stole a piece of bread to feed his hungry nephews when he was 20 years old. After his 19 years imprisonment, he was set free and he met Myriel, the bishap of Diny village. The prison made Jean Valjean a bad person. The bishap was religious and he provide Jean Valjean’s character change in a good way. After that Jean Valjean spend his life to do good. Although his dirty background foollowed up him, he always was able to overcome the difficulties. At the end, he died at ease because he could achieve his aims.

The message I understood from the book is that people can fight against the evil with goodness. I admired the character of Jean Valjean because if I were replaced with him, I wouldn’t be so powerful like he was.

GROWİNG UP

When we are young, the house where we live is our whole world. Everything is provided for us food and shelter, warmth and love.We obey parents without question, because if mummy and daddy say it, it must be right.Every experience we have is classified as good or bad according to their reaction. We quickly learn to do those things which earn their praise, and to avoid those things which upset them and earn their disapproval.
As we grow older, we are more and more exposed to outside influences school, friends and other adults. We soon start to realise that there are other values which are different from those our parents hold. For example, your parents have told you that some words are swear words, and they have forbidden you to use them. However, in your friend’s house, everyone use such words and they seem to think that there is nothing wrong with it. You are confused; you wonder what the right thing to do is. You try to resolve the conflict of values between two groups of people your parents on the one hand, and your friend’s parents on the other for whom you have equal respect. Eventually what happens is that we start to lead double lives; we reserve some forms of behaviour for the home, and others for the worlds outside the home.
The real conflict starts when we reach adolescence. We begin to question everything and everyone, including our parents and their values, because we want to establish our own independent values. Unfortunately, as long as we are living at home and are dependent on our parents, we cannot lead our own lives according to our own views of right and wrong. The trouble is that if our parents give us more freedom, we are bound to make mistakes, and they will wonder if they have given us too much freedom. On the other hand, if parents allow too little freedom, their teenage children are likely to become resentful and rebellious.
In conlusion, somewhere between the two extremes, it ought to be possible to find a sort of “democratic” alternative, which allows children the freedom to grow up and to make own decisions, including mistakes, but which also offers them help and protection when they need it.

CHİLD MARRİAGE

There are a lot of events occured in our lovely world. Some of them are good while some are strange and bad. Good events don’t make us think much on it. But, because of our strong human feelings, we are likely to think on bad events. I wanna talk about girls forced to marry when they are child. Child marriage is common in parts of Africa, South Asia and Latin America. These strange events don’t occurs in western cultures because they are more educated than people live there. I couldn’t have ever understand that why they make more child. There is no one that force you to do that much. If you don’t have a possibility to care them, don’t make that much child. Therefore, future with full of suffer becomes unavoidable for girls. There are a lot of examples concerns with this topic:

Gulam Hader, from Afganistan,is 11 years old and forced to marry with a forty-year old man.

Roshan Kasem, 8 years old, married to Said Mohammed, a 55 year old man.Her father is to poor to feed her.

Mejabin,13, became the second wife of Mohammed Fazal, 45, because her father bartered her to make up for his gambling debt.

Destaye Amare is 11 yers old and married with the priest of church.

So,what was their fault? They didn’t have any fault. The fault was the stupidity that their society has. They were only child and they only thought about playing game.Actually, they didn’t get married. They went into the grave. Although they are child themselves, they will grow child.

ALCOHOL

Alcohol is derived from the fermentation of sugar and it’s a drug. The main psychoactive ingredient in alcoholic drinks is ethanol, or ethyl alcohol. Most people think that alcohol is fairly harmless and just something to be enjoyed. Other than a few ill-effects the next day and maybe putting on a bit of extra weight, alcohol does not seem to have any long lasting effects. But,nobody can claim that alcohol doesn’t have negative effects. Alcohol also can cause harm. According to research conducted in 2005, each year in Turkey 90,000 people are admitted to hospital and 11,000 people die due to alcohol related causes. So,the message is simple. If we don’t want to die at all,we should fight against it.

PICTURE DESCRIPTION 2

The life doesn`t have any expectation from him. Similarly,he doesn`t have any expectance from life. They hate each other. He doesn`t need to think or care abou his family because he has already forgotten the term of family. If you ask him what does family mean, he will probably show you, bottles of beer, cigarette, and dirty garbages. It looks that he hasn`t gotten any washing. He doesn`t think about it.He only dream about the beers that he will drink after he finishes the beer he is drinking. The two bottles of wine seem to be tired with staying near him. Maybe, they hate him. But,it`s obvious that the alcoholic man loves them very much.

PHOTO DESCRİPTİON 1

Actually he’s happy with his life. He has a family and only a few hours ago he had a nice time with them. But,the situation has changed fastly and living has become unbearable. Imagine that lying irremediably with a great pain without not konowing what to do how can be unbearable. He wants to shout more than he do now and desires that he doesn’t live.Everybody close their eyes not to see the condition like he does. It’s difficult to determine that broken thing is wood or human leg. It only stays with the help of skin. Otherwise, it would fall to one meter away from him.
